Eval Comments:
? \"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from howthey behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\"|
She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a male Pitbull. She tolerated him sniffing her body, but she was wary of him sniffing her from behind. She then began to roam the yard and explore. She was wary of dogs trailing her to sniff her. She was approached in a playful manner by a female shepherd and gave a show of teeth waming for space. After some time, she began to relax a lot more around the other dogs and was no longer wary of them. She began to exchange some soft greetings with the other dogs. She remained calm and social for the rest of her time in the yard, but she appeared more comfortable around the calmer dogs.
She would approach the handlers often and seek affection. There were dogs playing during her time in the yard, but she did not engage in or entice any play. Ivy is social with the other dogs, but she displayed no play style at this time. She may take a little time to warm up to new dogs and would likely do best with a calmer dog, that will respect her boundaries. Due to a history of altercations with another dog in the previous home, she will require a known history of aggression disclosure fom.
