A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences." She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with hackles raised. She bypassed the other dogs and began to explore the yard. She was tolerant of dogs trailing her to sniff her. She tolerated dogs approaching her and sniffing her, but she did not retum the greetings. After a short time, she began to approach the calmer dogs and sniff them. When approached by higher energy dogs or playful dogs, she would freeze with a high stiff tail and hackles raised. She remained more social around the calm dogs. She would do best with a calm dog that would respect her space and boundaries. Due to a prior incident, she will require a known history of aggression disclosure fom.
