Description
🔥🐾 Meet Blazer! 🐾🔥
Blazer is a confident, alert boy who loves getting out to explore! He?s easy to leash up and happily leads the way on walks with a strong, enthusiastic stride. During handling he stayed calm and allowed touch all over, showing a relaxed tail and neutral body language. Blazer is an independent, observant pup who enjoys roaming and checking out his surroundings. Because he can be a little selective with other dogs, slow introductions and patient guidance will help him feel comfortable. With the right home that can give him structure, exercise, and time to warm up, Blazer has the potential to be a loyal and adventurous companion. 🐶✨

The behaviors described today reflect the dog?s responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and
unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out?or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may
change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.
Blazer A5760064 was at the front of the kennel with an alert posture, barking upon arrival. He allowed himself to be leashed
with ease and exited the kennel on his own. Blazer proceeded to lead the way to the yard with a strong pull on the leash,
bypassing his neighboring kennels. In the catch pen when he was introduced to the dogs his body was slightly tense and
forward, his ears were alert, he pulled forward towards the fence, his tail was high with no wag and his mouth was closed.
He was easy to collar and leash but he moved a lot. He rushed in the yard, the handler held on to the leash. He was pushy
and tense during his greetings. He slightly challenged the dogs. The handler had to move him away using the spray bottle.
After some time he slightly settled. He roamed the yard quietly but if the dogs approached him, he would slightly tense up.
He got into a verbal scuffle with another male dog who hovered and attempted to mount him. The bother scattered away as
soon as the shake can was used (no physical injuries/ no actual contact made). He became anxious after that and attempted to
jump the fence. He was removed from the yard shortly after. Overall, Blazer was selective of the dogs and does not have a
playstyle at this time.

Blazer A5760064 (Intact) was at the front of the kennel with an alert posture, barking upon arrival. He allowed himself to be
leashed with ease and exited the kennel on his own. Blazer proceeded to lead the way to the yard with a strong pull on the
leash, bypassing his neighboring kennels. He was allowed to decompress prior to the assessment. Blazer stood calmly,
allowing his ears, mouth, abdomen, tail, and legs to be handled without incident. He displayed a neutral body posture, a low,
relaxed tail, a closed mouth, a neutral gaze, and a natural ear set. Once the session concluded, he was returned to his kennel
without issue. Blazer showed no concerning behavior during the assessment; however, slow introductions are recommended
to help him gradually warm up to people.
