\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from howthey behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. She required a go-slow approach being collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She bypassed the other dogs and began to explore the yard. She was tolerant of dogs trailing her to sniff her. She was approached by a male Pitbull and exchanged a timid greeting with him. She was then approached by a female Pitbull and exchanged a timid greeting with her. She mostly kept to herself during her time in the yard, but remained social with the other dogs, exchanging the occasional soft greetings. There were dogs paying during her time in the yard, but she did not engage in or entice any play. She kept her distance from the handlers in the yard and would have wide eyes if they got nearer. Honor is social with the other dogs, but she displayed no play style at this time and would likely do best with a calmer dog. At the end of her time in the yard, she approached nearer to one of the handlers that was standing by the fence.
The handler gently extended ther hand, and she charged toward them with an open mouth. The handlertook a step back and she did not make contact or continue the offensive display any futher. She was then let into the catch pen to exit the yard.
See handling assessment for rescue only stipulation.
