"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on suroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences."
He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by a female husky and exchanged a soft greeting with her. He then began to roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He continued to roam the yard and exchange soft greetings with the female dogs. He appeared tense around a male shepherd, with a high stiff tail At one point he growled and gave a show of teeth waming to the male shepherd, for just walking near him. He continued to remain social with the female dogs. He would approach the handlers often and seek affection. Anew male dog entered the yard. When the new male approached him, he again became very tense, with a high stiff tall. After a few seconds he began to give a light growl and lip curl. He was removed from the yard shortly after this. Due to his much more relaxed and social behavior with the female dogs, and his behavior displayed toward the male dogs, he wil be designated as female dogs only required. He will also require socialization to walking on a leash.
