Eval Comments: "The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.'
She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She had a high stiff tail, forward body posture and growled at the dogs through the fence. She was muzzled prior to entering the yard, due to her prior history. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a male cattle dog. She immediately switched to a tense body, high stiff curved tail and gave a growl. The male cattle dog walked away. She was then approached by a male shepherd and displayed the same behavior. He also walked away. She then began to roam the yard and explore. She approached a fernale shepherd and stood in front of her with a tense forward body posture, high stiff curved tail and growled. A handler broke her focus using a spray bottle and she walked away. She maintained this tense behavior and high stiff curved tail around all the dogs. She was removed from the yard after a short time. Due to her behaviortoward the dogs in the yard and her prior history of injuring another dog in the home, she will be best as the only dog in the home. She will also require a known history of aggression disclosure fom.
