A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences." She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a female Pitbull to sniff her, and she immediately gave an air snap waming. She began to explore the yard to herself. She was approached by a male husky to sniff her from behind. She spun around and gave multiple consecutive air snaps, while chasing him away. She was later approached by a male shepherd and began giving him growl wamings when he was still 6ft away fromher. She was later approached by a female shepherd that offered her a play bow. She gave a show of eeth and then stepped forward giving an air snap. She maintained this defensive behavior for the rest of her time in the yard. She would approach the handlers and seek affection. She appeared to be under socialized with other dogs; except the dog she came in with. Due to this and her overly defensive behavior, she would do best as an only dog in the home.
