A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences." He was easily collard by the runner in the catch pen. He became banier reactive toward the dogs through the fence, growling, barking, and lunging. He was muzzle as precaution before entering the yard, due to his behavior in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with a high stiff tail and hackles raised. He approached a calm female Pitbull with a very tense forward body posture, high stiff tail and hackles raised. He began to press his muzzle against the side of her neck and growl. He then lunged to try to bite her, but a handler was able to grab his leash and pull him away. The female Pitbull had no negative reaction back to him and moved away to create space. He was then removed from the yard, due to his immediate offensive behavior. While he was being removed for the yard, he continued to pull very hard back toward the other dog. trying to get back to her, while growling. Due to his unprovoked offensive behavior, he will need to be an only dog in the home.
