About sunday: This DOG - ID#A592722 I am a female, brown and black German Shepherd Dog. Shelter staff think I am about 7 years old. I have been at the shelter since Apr 29, 2026. This beauty is deadlined for 5/3/26 at City of San Bernardino Animal Services Staff believe the dog was hit by a car and someone just wrapped a homemade bandage around the injury. The dog appears painful and needs a rescue to save her Here are the notes from the kennel card: Intake Date 04/29/26 Stray #A592722 This dog is a female, brown and black germ shepherd, whose age is estimated to be 7 years. Her weight registered 85.3# on intake Treatment History 04/29/26 BORDETELLA DA2PPV FLEA TRTMNT (TOPICAL) 4/29/26 13:42 Dog was presented to veterinary staff as injured, reported history of possible hit by car. Dog is bright, alert, responsive, but is favoring the rear right leg. A homemade bandage was present on the RRL and was carefully removed. Exam revealed a healing, approx dime-sized puncture wound on the lateral aspect of the right stifle, with purulent discharge. Clipped and cleaned wound with dil chlorhexidine sol'n. Gait abnormalities are present; Dog is intermittently weight-bearing on the RRL but is noted to ambulate on the dorsal aspect of the right rear paw (knuckling), concern for possible neurologic issue and/or chronic injury. The paw of the FLL appears flattened and the dog is partially weight-bearing on the carpus, possible neurologic compromise. Admin 1.2 mL Ampicillin SQ and 3.2 mL Rimadyl SQ. Dog is currently resting in kennel but exhibits rapid, shallow breathing. Overweight. Moderate tartar and wear. When offered food (canned and kibble) and water, the dog did not eat or drink. At this time, the dog appears quiet, alert, responsive and resting but remains concerning given traumatic hx, gait abnormalities, and respiratory pattern. Will continue to monitor closely for changes in appetite, pain level, respiratory effort, neurologic status, demeanor, and overall comfort. Rx: Rimadyl 175mg po SID x10 days & Keflex 1g po BID x10 days per procotol. This animal requires medical care beyond what can be provided in a shelter environment. A medical deadline has been set for placement by no later than 5/3/26
