Can you help Bear??? transferdas@rivco.org A1886502 Description: I am a neutered male, 56.00 lbs, tan and white Shepherd mix. Age: The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 11 months old. More Info: I have been at the shelter since Dec 23, 2025. I am an at risk animal. Please contact the shelter for more information. STAFF OBSERVATIONS 11/05/25 13:22 Dog was brought in by City of Blythe Animal Control. I approached the dog truck bin slowly. I could see that the dog had his tail tucked, shaking and was refusing to make eye contact. When I opened the dog truck, door I attempted to gently speak to him and leash him, but the dog immediately backed up into the corner of the bin and began showing teeth, and snapping at the air, dog at this point was whale eyeing me, growling and his hackles were raised. Unable to safely retrieve him from the very back of the dog bin Officer Bush placed dog on control stick, the dog began biting stick and thrashing but was quickly and safely placed in a kennel. I let the dog decompress for approximately an hour. I offered treats and used the kennel door as a barrier and entered the kennel to scan the dog for a microchip, but the dog kept biting at the wand scanner and was not interested in any treats. I stopped my attempts and removed myself from the kennel to avoid further stress to the dog. Unable to handle dog at this time. 01/10/26 13:26 - Walked on leash to play yard. Dog is social with handler in play yard. 01/27/26 17:41 Dog participated in playgroup. Playgroup style: Gentle/Dainty. Presented dog selective behaviors. Gave appropriate greetings, fearful and pushy in yard. 03/10/26 Dog participated in playgroup today. 03/19/26 Dog participated in playgroup style today. 04/02/26 Dog participated in playgroup today. Dog observed being overly tense at times. 04/13/26 Dog participated in individual enrichment today with kennel mate. 04/21/26 Dog participated in playgroup today. 05/02/26 Dog participated in playgroup with kennel mate. 05/08/26 Dog participated in single session enrichment today. 05/21/26 Dog participated in single session enrichment with kennel mate today. 05/26/26 Dog appears to be declining in shelter environment. Dog is spinning in kennel and stress panting throughout observation. MEDICAL NOTES 11/05/25 14:10 Unable to vaccinate, weigh or scan dog at this time, due to behavior. Will try again at a different time. 11-6-25 Vectra 11/10/25 10:21 Came into kennel this morning. There was bloody diarrhea throughout kennel, advised me to parvo test as a precaution. Parvo Test came back negative, gave dog FortiFlora. 11/26/25 14:32 Dog vaccinated and weighed. 12/25/25 11:11 Was on Animals Without Treatment list, P is BAR in kennel, no health concerns at this time vaccines up to date, hyperactive in kennel 01/25/26 12:18 ACT reports diarrhea with blood in kennel sharing with a kennel mate Giardia positive from stool sample in kennel Rxing drontal plus per protocol 04/12/26 16:12 ACT did giardia test feces in kennel, share with one other kennelmate Giardia test result positive. Rx large dog drontal 1 tab SID x 3 days. 05/09/26 NEUTERED 05/09/26 12:48 VA noticed patient vomited in kennel after sx. ok per dr. to adminster cerenia SQ.
