Bow's story is heartbreaking. He arrived in obvious pain after what appears to have been a traumatic injury, possibly being hit by a vehicle. Medical exams and radiographs confirmed that Bow is suffering from multiple fractures, including a right distal radius/ulna fracture and a comminuted fracture of his right femur. He will require orthopedic surgery and continued medical care to heal.
Despite everything he has endured, Bow has remained friendly and gentle with staff, allowing handling and medical treatment while coping with significant pain. He spends much of his time lying quietly in his kennel, trying to rest. Recent notes indicate swelling in his injured leg and that he remains non-weight-bearing.
Bow has been given pain medication and supportive care, but the shelter cannot provide the specialized orthopedic surgery he desperately needs. He has been placed on RED status due to medical needs and requires an immediate rescue commitment. While there is currently no deadline, that can change at any time if his condition worsens.
This sweet boy deserves a chance to recover in a safe environment where he can receive the medical treatment he needs and finally know comfort and kindness. Please share Bow and help us find a rescue willing to step up for him.
