A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from howthey behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamilar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences." He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen and began to seek affection. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He approached a female husky and exchanged a soft greeting with her. He offered her a play bow and then playfully pawed at her to entice play. She offered him an air snap correction and growled. He took the correction and displayed passive appeasement behavior. He then got up and began to playfully bound around the yard, continuing to exchange soft greetings with the other dogs. After greeting all the dogs, he began to roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. Anew male Malinois entered the yard and they exchanged soft greetings. They then engaged in rough and rowdy play for some time. He remained playful and social for the rest of his time in the yard. He is high in energy and will need a dog to match his energy and play style. He would approach the handlers often and seek affection. He displayed no negative behavior or aggression. He displayed some light puppy mouthy behavior at times when excited, but he just wanted affection from the handlers and even rolled over for belly rubs. He also climbed into the pool and enjoyed some time in there. He is social with the other dogs and prefers a rough/rowdy play style. Due to incidents with livestock, he will be designated as no livestock required. After discussion with the behavior manager, due to him still being a puppy, his friendly social behavior with people and dogs and displaying no handling issues, he will remain available. But due to the number of incidents with livestock, he will be designated as rescue only with waiver and indemnity.
