Eval Comments:
\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\"
He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by a small male shepherd and immediately became very tense, with a high stiff curved tail and hackles raised. He froze with a forward body posture and began to growl. Ahandler nearby broke his focus using spray bottle and he walked away. He was then approached by a female Pitbull and displayed the same tense behavior. He hovered over her with this same tense body language. Ahandler broke his focus with a spray bottle and then a second handler picked up his leash. He was then removed from the yard before his behavior could escalate. Due to his unprovoked behavior toward the other dogs, he would do best as the only dog in the home. See handling assessment for further stipulations.

He was taken to the catch pen for the handling assessment after play group. He approached with soft body language. He allowed the handler to pet his head with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his teeth with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his ears with no reaction. He was not comfortable with his back end being handled and growled when the handler touched his back paws. He was retumed to his kennel without issue. Due to his handling sensitivities during assessment and dunngmedical exam, he would do best in an adult only home.
