Eval Comments:
'\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\"
He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He became barrier reactive toward the dogs through the fence, growling at them. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He began to roam the yard to himself and explore. He was approached by a male Pitbull. He immediately became very tense and began to low growl. The male Pitbull was steered away from him by the handlers. He wasthen approached by a female shepherd and displayed the same behavior. He then began to kick his back paws and growl louder. The female shepherd was steered away from him by the handlers. He continued to roam the yard to himself. He continued to become extremely tense and low growl at any dog that came near him. He also continued to display a lot of kicking his paws, as he roamed the yard. Due to his behavior toward the other dogs, he would likely do best as an only dog in the home. See handling assessment for further stipulations.

He was taken to the catch pen for the handling assessment after play group. He approached with soft body language. He allowed the handler to pet his head with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his ears with no reaction. When the handler touched his front paws, he began to growl. When the handler touched his back paws, he again began to growl. When the handler touched his tail, he growled again. He was retumed to his kennel without issue. Due to his handling sensitivities, he will be designated as rescue only at this time.
