A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\"
He required a go-slow approach when being collared by the runner in the catch pen He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by two dogs and exchanged soft greetings with them both After the dogs broke away, he began to roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He continued to roam the yard and exchange soft greetings with the other dogs. A female shepherd offered him a play bow and playfully pushed him with her front paws, trying to entice play. He offered no corrections to this, but he did not engage in play. He remained calm and social with all the dogs for the rest of his time in the yard. There were dogs playing during his time in the yard, but he did not engage in or entice any play. Bronx is social with the other dogs, but he displayed no play style at this time. After trust building, he beganto approach a female handler in the yard andreceive affection. It took longer for him to approach the male handler in the yard, but he eventually did and allowed them to pet him He is fearful and does growl and defensively back, until he builds trust with someone. He needs a go-slow approach and is wary of faster movements. He will need someone to go at his pace and build trust. Due to these factors, he will require an adult only home. Due to altercations with another dog in the previous home, he will require a known history of aggression disclosure fom.
