'The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and
unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change
based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.'
Blue A4915627 greeted the runner with a relaxed demeanor, he was easy to remove and he moderately pulled on leash. In
the catch pen when he was introduced to the dogs his body was neutral, he whined, his eyes were alert and his tail was
neutral with no wag. He was easy to collar and leash. He entered the yard and began exploring. He was pushy during his
greetings with the dogs, his body was forward, his eyes were alert, his tail wagged in circles and his ears were alert. The
handler moved him away using the spray bottle. He began to roam the yard but continued to hover over the dogs. He had to
be corrected a few times (other dogs overwhelmed by him). Rusy attempted to play with him, he jumped and tried to mount
him, Blue tensed up, growled and snapped at him (started to follow him around). The handler was able to correct him with
ease (spray bottle correction). He solicited affection from the handlers. Anytime the dogs got near him, he would shift his
body slightly forward and tense up. He was removed from the yard not shortly after that, to not overwhelm him no further.
Overall, Blue was selective of the dogs and he does not have a playstyle at this time. Behaviorally ok for playgroup, no other
large dogs required, low energy.
