Eval Comments:
\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on swroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\"
The runner was unable to safely collar him in the catch pen, due to him showing teeth and tracking their hand. He was brought into the yard on the runner's loop leash, to gauge his behavior around dogs. He entered the play yard with soft body language and walked well with the runner. He was approached by a female Pitbull that lingered in his face. He was uncomfortable, took a step back and beganto showteeth. She respected his waming and walked away. He then approached a male Dogo Argentino from behind and began to sniff him. He exchanged good end to end greetings with him. When the male tumed and greeted him nose to nose, he appeared uncomfortable and began to back up. Ahandler moved the male away to give him space. He continued to appear more comfortable with calm dogs and wary of dogs lingenng near his face or fast approaches. He would do best with a very calm dog that will respect his space and boundaries. See handling assessment for further stipulations.

He was taken to the catch pen for the handling assessment after play group. The handler coaxed him and he began to approach with a low tail wag. When he got closer, the handler presented their hand to pet him, and he began to showteeth.
The handler slowly picked up his leash, and he walked willingly on leash in the catch pen. But any time, the handler tried to interact with him, he would show teeth and track the runner's hand wherever it went. Ahandler knelt at the fence outside of the catch pen and began to verbally reassure him. He approached a little closer to them at the fence. He began to give fully exposed teeth when their hand touched the fence. He again began to track the handler's hand while showing teeth. The handling assessment was ended due to it being unsafe to attempt to touch him. Due to his handling sensitivity and being unable to safely touch him, he will be designated as rescue only at this time.
