Eval Comments:
\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior m an Ammal Care Center may differ significantly from howthey behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar suroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\"
She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen and sought affection. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a female Pitbull and exchanged a soft greeting with her. She was then approached by a male Pitbull and exchanged a soft greeting with him. She began to calmly roam the yard and explore. She was tolerant of dogs trailing her to sniff her. She continued to exchange soft greetings with other dogs that approached her. She would approach the handlers and seek affection. She was approached by a higher energy male shepherd that playfully pawed at her.
She became tense with a forward posture and began to growl. The handlers steered the male shepherd away for her. She would do best with a calm dog that will respect her space and boundaries. Due to multiple incidents with a small dog in the previous home, the last of which caused injury, she will be designated as no small dogs required. She will also require a known history of aggression disclosure fom. See handling assessment for further evaluation.
