A4965631 Dodger is a sweet and sporty 4-year-old black-and-white male Pit Bull mix who came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center as an owner surrender on June 25th because his owners claimed he was sick. Weighing 42 lbs, Dodger?s handler has described him as the happiest dog she?s ever met. And he definitely has that special puppy-like love of life! A real love bug with people (he won?t hesitate to hop right up into your lap for attention), he also gets along with other dogs. Because of his enthusiasm, he should be properly introduced to new canine friends so as not to overwhelm them, though. Dodger sits on command, shows signs of being housebroken, and walks well on leash although he could use some extra training on leash to perfect his skills. He has also passed his official shelter-administered temperament test. Super handsome with his sleek black coat and white paws-and-chest, Dodger will make an incredible indoor pet for an active and loving family understanding that he is a strong dog who has been cooped up since June, and will likely have some extra energy to expend in his first days home.
