A5032318 Amelia is a family-ready 6-year-old red-and-white female Pit Bull and Boxer mix who came into the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center as a stray from Hacienda Heights on February 10th. Weighing 55 lbs, this oh-so-responsive and eager-to-please lass strikes us as the perfect family buddy. She's good on leash, shows signs of housebreaking, has a medium energy, and is friendly and playful with other dogs. She passed her shelter-administered temperament test, and the test results note that she gets excited to be out of her kennel but is manageable (she's been cooped up for a while!), which is exactly what we saw, as well. Our volunteer gave Amelia a bath because she was extremely filthy (note that she is very thin, showing signs of malnutrition, which will need to be addressed), and Amelia was sweet in the process and behaved well. She takes treats into her droopy lips softly and gently, she?s easy on the eyes with her beauty and frisky freckling, and she's a leaner, a wanna-be lap dog, and a hugger. Her goal is to bond and be yours! We think she'll make an outstanding indoor pet and companion for any family who wants a big, trusting, alert, responsive girl.
