Eval Comments: He was at the kennel gate with soft eyes and a low body. When the runner opened the kennel gate, he retreated to the back
The runner knelt and began to verbally coax him. He approached softly with a low body and allowed the runner to pet him.
The runner was then able to loop leash him. He was resistant on leash, pulling back and biting at it. He was clearly not leash trained. The runner knelt and began to verbally coax him. He stopped pulling back and approached. The runner was able to pick him up and carry him to the play yard without issue. Once in the catch pen, he had soft eyes and a low body. He was avoidant of the fence and did not greet the other dogs. He submissively laid down and remained tolerant of the runner collaring him. He entered the play yard with concemed eyes and a tucked tail. He was approached by a male cattle dog and remained tolerant of him sniffing him. When the male cattle dog began to linger in his face, he gave a growl waming for space. He then walked away and began to roam the yard. He went and sat in the comer of the yard by the fence. He remained in the comer and would give show of teeth warnings for space, when dogs approached and lingered near his face. He would do best with a very calm dog that would respect his space and boundaries, to allow him to gain more confidence.

Eval Comments:
He was taken to the catch pen for the handling assessment after play group. He was given a moment to acclimate to his surroundings. The handler knelt and called to him, but he would not approach. The handler slowly approached him and picked up his leash. He laid down and had concemed eyes. He allowed the handler to pet his head with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his teeth with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his ears with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch all his paws with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch his tail with no reaction.
Although he allowed all areas to be touched, he mantamed concemed eyes entire time. He was retumed to his kennel without issue. He displayed no negative or conceming behavior toward the handler during the handling but is timid and does best with a go-slowapproach. He will need socialization to being on leash and confidence building. Due to his need for a go-slow approach and continued socialization, he will be designated as adults only required at this time.
