When the runner started to unlock the gate, he jumped up, began to growl and then started defensively barking. When the runner opened the kennel gate, he retreated to the back of the kennel. He dodged the leash a few times before the runner was able to loop leash him. He required some verbal coaxing to exit the kennel. He walked to the play yard with no pull on the leash. He entered the catch pen with soft eyes and neutral tail. He exchanged timid greetings with the other dogs through the play yard fence. He was easily collared by the runner. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by a male Pitbull nose to nose. He was tolerant of him lingering in his face, but he was tense. He then began to calmly roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. After a short time, he appeared to relax a lot more and began to exchange soft greetings with the other dogs. He offered a play bowto a male Labrador and they engaged in some brief gentle/ dainty play. He remained social with all the dogs for the rest of his time in the yard. He would approach the handlers willingly and seek affection. He is social with the other dogs and prefers a gentle/dainty play style. He was given a moment to acclimate to his surroundings. The handler knelt and called to him. He approached the handler with soft eyes and neutral tail wag. He began to lean against the handler and seek affection. He allowed the handler to pet his head with no reaction. He allowed the handlerto check his teeth with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his ears with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch and lift all his paws with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch his tail with no reaction. After the handling, he continued to seek affection. He was retumed to his kennel without issue. He displayed no negative or conceming behavior toward the handler during the handling.
