Eval Comments: The behaviors described to day reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. He walked to the play yard with a low body and require some coaxing along the way. He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He approached a male Pitbull and exchanged a soft greeting with him. He then approached a female Pitbull and exchanged a soft greeting with her. He began to nudge her with his muzzle to entice play and they engaged in some gentle/dainty play. After their play, he began to roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He remained social with all the dogs for the rest of his time in the yard. He would approach the handlers often and seek affection. Max is social with the other dogs and prefers a gentle dainty play style.
