A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. She stood next to the handler with sot eyes and an open mouth pant initially. She looked away with concerned eyes as the handler looked into her ears and tried to view her teeth. She tolerated the handler picking up her front paws but was tense with concerned eyes and a closed mouth. She was not comfortable with her rear paws being held as she turned to look back at the handler with concerned eyes and alert ears. She was wary with the handler standing behind her, turning to face him with concerned eyes. She was not comfortable with the actual handling assessment but would come back up to the handler and seek affection after he touched her body. She was comfortable with him rubbing the top of her head and back. She walked back to her kennel without issue. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, ADULTS (REQ), CALM DOGS (REQ), LOW ENERGY

A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. She stood at the gate with alert ears, concerned eyes and retreated as the runner kneeled while coaxing her. She avoided eye contact and would not approach despite coaxing. The runner stepped into the kennel while presenting the loop leash. She snapped at it on the first attempt. She was ok with it being placed over her head but had wide eyes and alert ears. She required coaxing to exit the kennel. Once out, she walked well next to the runner on the way to the catch pen. She was wary of a female boxer as she entered the yard, leaning away as she was greeted. She quickly relaxed, exchanging a good greeting with the boxer. She was wary of a female pit bull who came up to playfully but relaxed quickly once again, exchanging a good greeting. She spent the next few minutes calmly roaming the yard socially with a group of dogs. She would approach the handlers to sniff their hand but would not fully commit. She was wary of an energetic female Doberman who play bowed and barked at her as she enticed play. She remained social with the other calm dogs, keeping her distance from playful dogs for the rest of her stay in the yard. She needs further socialization. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, ADULTS (REQ), CALM DOGS (REQ), LOW ENERGY
