The behaviors deschbed to day reflect the dog's responses in an Ammal Care Center environment and dunng assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from howthey behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences. She would not walk to the play yard and appearedto not beleash trained. She was tolerant of the runner picking her up and canying her to the play yard. She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a male Pitbull. She was initially tolerant of him sniffing her, but she then yelped and gave an air snap waming for space. She began to roam the yard and explore. She continued to remain tolerant of dogs initially smiffing her, but she would then yelp and dash away to create space. She would approach the handlers and seek affection. She needs continued socialization around other dogs for her to gain more confidence and be less defensive. She would do best with a very calm dog that would respect her space and boundaries, to allow her to achieve this.
