My name is Zander and I am an unaltered male, chocolate Labrador Retriever. Shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 1 month old. I have been at the shelter since May 09, 2025.
DOG SELECTIVE Animal Notes & Behavior History
06/03/2025 removed from kennel 65. He is consistently trying to play with A579403, and when A579403 becomes defensive, Zander gets aggressive and won't back off.
Moving to receiving to either look for another kennel or move to quarantine.
06/14/2025 BEHAVIOR removed Zander (A579452) from kennel 065 due to attempts of trying to play with kennel mate Kodiak (A579869). Zander pushes Kodiak into corner of kennel, when Kodiak becomes defensive, Zander begins to show teeth and gets aggressive.
06/27/2025 Dog was standing at the front of the kennel as staff approached, low tail wag, mouth closed, ears back. Sniffed staff's hand through the kennel gate and stared at hand, loose body. Due to behavior exhibited when corrected by other dogs, Zander is unable to be safely kenneled with other dogs unsupervised. We are seeking an exit for Zander by 7/4/25 at 2PM.
