ALEXANDER - ID#A574357

My name is Alexander and I am a male, brown and white Australian Cattle Dog mix. Shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 6 months old. I have been at the shelter since Jun 24, 2025.

Once again another dirtbag adopter who doesn't understand how to handle a herding dog has returned this young male stating he has bitten several times. Let's review.
First, he was adopted in January of this year and surrendered 2 days later because the adopter \"was allergic to his dander\" That adopter stated \"Alexander is quiet and polite. He is very protective of his owner. It will take time and patience for him to open up to others; especially small children. Alex enjoys walks and sleeps well at night either in a kennel or with his owner. During car rides, Alex is very good sitting on the passenger side, although it takes a couple of times to say \"sit\", he obeys. He doesn't mind baths. Alex is such a good boy\"
Well after he was returned, you can imagine how absolutely devastated he was. Then comes adopter #2...This time he was returned because \"Alexander bit owner and his granddaughter (8 years old) and his wife. Got along well with their other dog. None of his bites (nips) drew blood until 6/24 which was a \"level 3\" bite

#A574357 Alexander is about 1 1/2 years old. He was surrendered on 6/24 by his 2nd adopter and was placed in quarantine, per protocol, so we never saw him listed as a return until today (6/27)
Alexander must be rescued by a 501c3 partnered with City of San Bernardino Animal Services
He is under 20 pounds 🙁
