Eval Comments:
\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" He walked to the play yard behind the runner and required verbal coaxing along the way. He was easily collared by the runner, but he needed a go slow approach. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by a male Pitbull and exchanged a soft greeting with him.
However, he gave a show of teeth and then a slow air snap waming for space when the male Pitbull lingered in his face. He then began to calmly roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He continued to exchange soft greetings with the calm dogs. He remained more wary of the higher energy dogs and would give the occasional lip curl forspace, when dogs would linger in his face. He is social with the other dogs, but he would do best with a very calm dog that would respect his space and boundaries.

He was given a moment to acclimate to his surroundings. The handler knelt and called to him, but he did not approach. The handler approached him and he remained with soft body language. He allowed the handler to pet his head with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his teeth, but he tumed his head slightly away. He allowed the handler to check his ears, but he would tum his head and lick his lips. He allowed the handler to touch his tail with no reaction. When the handler would touch his back paws, he would tum his head to look back and licking his lips. When the handler tried to touch his front paws, he would pull them away and create space, not allowing them to be touched. He was retumed to his kennel without issue. He displayed no negative behavior toward the handler during the handling, but he does get wary of faster movements. Due to his need for a go-slow approach and his handing sensitivity, he will be designated as adults only required.
