Eval Comments:
\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" He walked to the play yard with no pull on the leash. He required a go-slow approached being collared by the runner and became tense at times. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by a male Pitbull and exchanged a soft greeting with him. He was then approached by a female shepherd and exchanged a soft greeting with her. He began to calmly roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He continued to calmly roam the yard and exchange soft greetings with the other dogs. He remained social for the rest of his time in the yard. There were dogs playing during his time in the yard, but he did not join in or entice any play. He would approach near to handlers and sniff their leg, but he appeared tense at times around people. Freddy is social with the other dogs, but he displayed no play style at this time and would likely do best with a calm dog.

He was given a moment to acclimate to his surroundings. The handler knelt and called to him.
He approached the handler with soft eyes and high tail wag. He allowed the handler to pet his head with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his teeth with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his ears with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch and lift his front paws with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch his tail, but he looked back and got tense. He had the same reaction with his back paws. He was retumed to his kennel without issue. Due to doing best with a slower approach and some tense behavior around some of the handlers in the play yard, he will be designated as adults only required.
