Eval Comments: The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out-or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.
She had a wiggly body, lightly jumping on the runner as the collar was clasped around her neck. She had soft eyes and a neutral tail wag as she greeted several dogs through the play yard fence. She entered the yard and was social with a few calm dogs who came up to her, exchanging several good greetings. She was not comfortable with an energetic female shepherd coming up and enticing play, exposing her teeth to wam her. She then approached a hander, climbing on his side with a wiggly body to solicit affection. She became more tolerant of the shepherd trying to entice play. Jasmin would bark and then play bow before taking a few playful steps towards the shepherd only to run away and repeat this behavior. She wanted to play but did not have the confidence to fully jom in initially. After repeating this several times, she bnefly chased with the female shepherd and eventually played with a male shepherd. She is under socialized and needs confidence building.
BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, CALM DOGS (REC), MEDIUM ENERGY
