A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" He walked to the play yard with a moderate pull on the leash. He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language.
He was approached by two dogs and exchanged soft greetings with them both. He began to roam the yard and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He continued to roam the yard and exchange soft greetings when approached by other dogs. He remained social with all the dogs for the rest of his time in the yard. He would approach the handlers and seek affection. Although he displayed social behavior with dogs in the yard today and also back in 2023 when he was first assessed, he has a history of negative behavior when sharing a home with other dogs. Due to him guarding resources such as food, his crate and the area surrounding his cate from other dogs in the home, he will be designated as no other dogs recommended. He will require a history of know aggression disclosure form, for his aggression toward other dogs in the previous home.

He was given a moment to acclimate to his surroundings. The handler knelt and called to him He approached the handler with soft eyes and neutral tail wag. He began to lean against the handler and seek affection. He allowed the handler to pet his head with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his teeth with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his ears with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch and lift all his paws with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch his tail with no reaction. After the handling, he continued to seek affection. He displayed no negative or conceming behavior toward the handler during the handling. He was retumed to his kennel without issue.
