Eval Comments:
\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from howthey behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on suroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" He walked to the play yard with a hard pull.
He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He immediately approached a male shepherd with a tense body in a forward posture. The male shepherd appeared wary of him and began to walk away to create space. Taz began to tensely trail him with eyes fixated on him. Ahandler was able to break his focus using a spray bottle. At this moment, a female shepherd then playfully ran past him. He switched his focus and became fixated on her. He immediately began intensely chasing her and bit at her rear end She yelped and made a sharp 90 degree tum to get away from him. Taz then ran into a wooden post in the yard and fell down. He immediately got back up and had a piece of the other dog's fur in his mouth. He immediately re-focused on her and tried to pursue her again. A handler was able to slow his pursuit and break his focus slightly with the sound of a shaker can. The handler was then able to grab his leash.
As the handler grabbed his leash, he still tried to lunge toward dogs that were nearby. The other dogs were steered away by a second handler and Taz was safely removed from the yard. Both dogs were checked and no injures were sustained. Due to his offensive behavior, he will be designated as no other dogs required.
