\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar suroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" He would not walk to the play yard and appeared to not be leash trained at first. He was tolerant of the runner rope muzzling him as precaution and canying him to the play yard. He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language and laid down. He was approached by a female Labrador mix and remained tolerant of her sniffing him, but he had concemed eyes. He was approached by a male shepherd and gave a show of teeth waming for space when he lingered in his face. He began to roam the yard and explore. He kept to himself and would give show of teeth warnings for space to all dogs that approached near hm. He would approach a handler in the yard and seek affection. He appears under socialized with dogs: except the dog he lived with and has multiple scars that appear to be from dog fights. Due to this and the under socialization, combined with his behavior with dogs in the play yard, he will be designated as no other dogs recommended.

He was laying down in the yard. The handler knelt and called to him. He approached the handler with soft eyes, a low body crawl and tail wag. He climbed into the handler's lap and began seeking affection. He allowed the handler to pet his head with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check is teeth with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his ears with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch and lift all his paws with no reaction. He allowed the handler to touch his tail with no reaction. He displayed no negative or conceming behavior toward the handler during the handling. After the handling he continued to seek affection. He was retumed to his kennel without issue and walked back without having to be carried. He does need to build trust with a new person, but once he does, then he is very friendly and affectionate. Due to needing more confidence and to build trust with new people, he will be designated as adults only recommended at this time.
