Eval Comments: The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out-or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.
She was wary on leash, keeping her distance from the runner with a tucked tail and concemed eyes, requiring lots of coaxing to continue. She sat in against the wall in the pen, tolerating the collar being clasped around her neck. She timidly entered the yard with a low body and tucked tail. She sat down at the gate, tolerating several dogs coming up to greet her. She was tolerant of playful and calm dogs approaching her but remained seated and did not move for a long time. She was wary of the handlers and would create space if they approached but then retum to the gate and sit down. She eventually walked over to a comer of the yard and sat down in the shade. She continued watching the other dogs and remained tolerant of them coming up to her. She would not walk out of the play yard so a handler had to pick her up and camy her out of the yard. She was easily cared and did not require a leash muzzle. She needs continued socialization. BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, ADULTS (REQ), CALM DOGS (REC), LOW ENERGY

She was camed into the catch pen as she would not walk on leash. The handler kneeled next to her as she remained timid with concered eyes and a tucked tail. She tolerated the handler looking into her ears, viewing her teeth, holding her tail and holding each of her paws as she remained seated while looking away from him. She did not display any negative behavior during the assessment. She needs socialization BEHAVIORALLY OK FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION, ADULTS (REQ).
