Eval Comments:
\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" She walked to the play yard with no pull on the leash. She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by two dogs at the same time and exchanged soft greetings with them both. She began to calmly roam the yard and explore. She was tolerant of dogs trailing her to sniff her. She continued to exchange soft greetings with the other dogs.
She remained calm and social for the rest of her time in the yard. There were dogs playing during her time in the yard, but she did not join in or entice any play. She would approach the handlers and seek affection. Cassie is social with the other dogs, but she displayed no play style at this time.
