\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dogs behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\" She walked to the play yard with no pull on the leash. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a male shepherd and exchanged a soft greeting with him. She was then approached by a female Labrador and exchanged a soft greeting with her. She began to calmly roam the yard and explore. She was tolerant of dogs trailing her to sniff her. She continued to exchange soft greetings when approached by the calm dogs. She remained wary of higher energy dogs and would create space away from them when possible. With a go-slow approach, she would approach a handler in the yard to seek affection. Sasha is social with the other dogs, but she displayed no play style at this time. She would do best with a calm dog that would respect her space and boundanes.

She was given a moment to acclimate to her surroundings. The handler knelt and called to her, and she approached with soft eyes and a lowtail. She allowed the handler to pet her head with no reaction.
When the handler tried to check her teeth, she tumed her head away. She allowed the handler to check her ears with no reaction. She allowed the handler to touch and lift all her paws with no reaction. She allowed the handler to touch her tail with no reaction. She displayed no negative or conceming behavior toward the handler during the handling, but she does get little wary and head shy with faster movements. She was retumed to her kennel without issue. Due to doing best with a go-slow approach and needing some confidence building, she will be designated as adults only recommended.
