Eval Comments: The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out-or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.
He attempted to door dash as the runner opened the gate. He was easily collared and proceeded to pull extremely hard on leash, straight ahead. He was easily collared by the runner as he solicited affection. He quickly and confidently entered the yard, running up to the other dogs and obnoxiously lingering in their faces. Amale shepherd and female shepherd retumed good greetings, tolerating his very assertive face lingering. He then approached the handles, soliciting affection with a wiggly body. He spent a few minutes roaming and acclimating to the yard and remained loose as the male shepherd trailed behind him. He approached a timid female shepherd and lingered near her muzzle. She air snapped at him twice, warning him for space. He respected the waming and backed away. He then spent a few minutes standing in the pool to cool off. He resumed roaming the yard and exchanging good greetings with other social dogs. The male shepherd enticed him for play but he declined. He then spent several minutes sha doing a handler to receive affection. He remained social with the other dogs but did not display any play style while in the yard. He has a history of aggression towards chickens while being loose.
