Poor Chubby?s story is a sad one 😢. During his evaluation, this nervous boy trembled and stayed completely shut down, showing how scared and unsure he felt. His body was tense, his tail tucked, and his eyes filled with concern 🥺. Though the handler was able to gently complete the assessment, it?s clear Chubby hasn?t had the best experiences with people 💔.
Unfortunately, due to his lack of socialization and history of aggression reported by his previous owner, Chubby is not available for public adoption

The behaviors described today reflect the dog?s responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and
unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out?or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may
change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.
Chubby A5722315 (Intact) was at the front of the kennel with a fearful demeanor and a tense body posture upon the runner?s
arrival. As the runner opened the kennel door, Chubby began to panic, jumping and bouncing off the wall as he looked for
an escape. The runner allowed him to settle before tossing the leash from a distance, requiring multiple attempts. Once
leashed, Chubby began to panic once again, this time flailing as he resisted walking on leash. The runner released some
leash pressure, allowing Chubby to calm down. Chubby was placed in a roll cart and transported to the catch pen. Once
inside, he was collared and leashed cautiously. Chubby was guided into the yard and briefly exchanged greetings with some
of the dogs, appearing uncomfortable during the interactions with a tense body posture. Following the introduction, Chubby
isolated himself in a corner of the yard, observing from a distance. He tolerated the dogs who approached him, uninterested
in socializing. He continued to appear completely shut down, reluctant to engage with the dogs. Chubby remained in the
same place for the rest of the session, nervous with a tense body posture. Once the session concluded, he remained in the
yard to begin his handling assessment. Chubby could benefit from continued socialization in a yard with calm dogs, where
he can interact at his own comfort level and gradually develop his social skills. Leash and confidence-building training is
highly recommended.

Chubby appeared very uncomfortable during the process. He remained completely shut down with a trembling body while
his ears, mouth, tail, stomach, and paws were handled. Chubby exhibited a tense body posture, with a concerned gaze, a
closed mouth, a tucked tail, and ears back. Once the session concluded, he was placed back in the roll cage and transported
to his kennel. Due to his lack of socialization around people and his noted aggressive behavior toward people as reported by
his previous owner, Chubby is not available for public adoption.
