\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\"
He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He was approached by a male Rottweiler mix and exchanged a soft greeting with him. Hethen approached a female Pitbull and exchanged a soft greeting with her. He began to roam the yard and explore. Her was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He continued to roam the yard and exchange soft greetings with the other dogs. Amale Rottweiler mix began to playfully run around the yard. Zeus became aroused by this, chasing him with a high tail, hackles raised and growling. When he got closer, he lunged to bite toward him. The male Rottweiler mix continued to run away to create space. Zeus continued to chase him growling, even when a shaker can and spray bottle were used. Eventually he broke focus when another spray bottle was used. A handler then stepped on his leash, and he was removed from the yard at this time. Due to his arousal issues around higher energy dogs, he will be designated as calm dogs required. See handling assessment for rescue only stipulation

He was taken to the catch pen for the handling assessment after play group. He was given a moment to acclimate to his suroundings. The handler knelt and called to him. He approached the handler with soft body language and began seeking affection. He allowed the handler to pet his head with no reaction. He allowed the handler to check his ear with no reaction.
When the handler would try to touch near his rear end, he would continually spin to remain facing the handler. When the handler pet his rear end, he spun around with wide eyes and licking his lips. When the handler put their hand near his chest, he licked his lips and then gave a small snap toward their hand. The handling assessment was ended at this point. Due to his handling sensitivities and the aggression issues in the previous home, he will be designated as rescue only and will require a known history of aggression disclosure fom.
