Meet Gotti 💪🐶
Handsome Gotti is a strong, confident boy with a big heart who just needs the right home to shine! 💙 He handled his assessment well, showing some initial tension but quickly relaxed once he got comfortable. 🌿 While he prefers his own space and isn?t too interested in doggy playtime, Gotti listens well to his handlers and responds beautifully to gentle guidance. 🐕✨ He?d thrive as the only dog in a calm, loving home where he can truly relax and be himself. 💖

NEW ASSESSMENT
DOWNEY
A5152337
The behaviors described today reflect the dog?s responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and
unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out?or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may
change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.
Gotti A5152337 (Intact) was easily retrieved from his kennel and guided to the catch pen. He was collared and leashed prior
to entering the yard without incident, though he appeared uncomfortable during the process. Once inside the yard, Gotti
exchanged greetings with the dogs, exhibiting a slightly tense body posture. His body softened as the interactions continued.
Following the introduction, Gotti moved on to explore the environment, sniffing various areas of the yard. Gotti began to
challenge some of the dogs he encountered along the way, tensing up as he stood confrontational. However, he was easily
steered away by the handlers, preventing an escalation. For the rest of the session, Gotti kept to himself, showing no interest
in engaging in play with the other dogs. Once the session concluded, he was shifted to the side yard to begin his handling
assessment. Due to his assertive behavior displayed in the yard, Gotti could benefit from an environment with no other dogs,
allowing him to adjust more comfortably.

Gotti A5152337 (Intact) was allowed to decompress alone prior to the assessment. The handler was able to conduct a full
evaluation without incident, though he appeared very uncomfortable during the process. He stood still, with an alert gaze
while his ears, mouth, stomach, tail, and legs were handled. Gotti exhibited a stiff body posture, with a low tail, a natural ear
set, side-eying and closing his mouth as a sign of discomfort. Once the session concluded, he was returned to his kennel
without issue. Gotti displayed sensitivity when touched; therefore, it is highly recommended to proceed slowly during
introductions, as this may allow him to become more comfortable around people.
