Frito is declining in the shelter. Exhibits some sociability with handlers, high arousal around other animals. Unable to be cohoused. Can you help Frito??

Found as a stray on Lake Matthews Dr., Perris on 10/16/25
Frito has been having a hard time adjusting in our care. Due to dog assessments and intake notes, Frito is looking for a no other dog household where he can be set up for success and decompress for his new start at \"fur-ever\". Could you help this boy out?

Description: I am a male, 73.80 lbs, tan Pit Bull Terrier.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 1 month old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Oct 16, 2025.

STAFF OBSERVATIONS
10/21/25 09:42 Dog is standing at the front of the kennel upon approach. Upon attempted engagement dog remains standing at the front of the kennel with mouth closed, relaxed face, neutral eyes, ears and tail up. Dog appears to exhibit social behavior with handler from inside the kennel. Reportedly in an altercation with another dog while running at large.
10/22/25 11:19 caution; dog pepper sprayed, will reactivate with water
10-22-25 Dog appears to be uncomfortable around other dogs. When another dog was nearby, he displayed height-seeking behavior, raised hackles, and marked the area. During a face-to-face introduction with a helper dog on leash, Frito attempted to mount and then tried to bite.
11/06/25 17:10 Observed this dog stress vocalizing while excessively salivating with tail high. Behavior appears to be declining in the shelter environment.
MEDICAL NOTES
10/16/25 13:10 Scan neg on MC, AA came in on pole, Came in pepper sprayed from field due to being in a fight with another male(1883779), Age weight and sex estimated due to behavior, Gave routine Vx, Applied vectra, Dried blood all over body, Small puncture wounds all over body (facial wounds, arms, tongue), Gave 3.3cc SQ convenia and 3.2cc SQ carprofen per protocol, Starting on 75mg carprofen PO BID x 5 days, Otherwise appears healthy at this time.
11/05/25 15:46 ACT reports bleeding on chin. Unable to look closely as pt is very wiggly/energetic. No obvious significant wound, possibly scraped. Per ACT does not have kennelmate. Gave PennG 3.8mL SQ per protocol/rvt ge. Dr. review for add'tl trmnt.
11/06/25 14:40 aml. Pt BAR + very active. No bleeding observed on the ventral chin or other areas on the head/neck. No papules, pustules crusts or evidence of trauma evident at this time. R/o resolved self trauma vs play/impact injury vs friction vs other. No additional medications needed at this time.
11/10/25 11:34 Soft stools, Rx: Endosorb 3 tabs po BID x 3 days.
