\"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\"
He was a little head shy being collared by the runner in the catch pen. He entered the play yard with soft body language. He approached a female Pitbull and exchanged a soft greeting with her. He then began to roam the yard calmly and explore. He was tolerant of dogs trailing him to sniff him. He was a little tense when dogs approached him and sniffed him and had concemed eyes. After a short time, he relaxed a lot more and remained social around all the dogs for the rest of his time in the yard. There were dogs playing during his time in the yard, but he did not engage in or entice play. He was more wary of higher energy dogs and preferred to create space from them. He would approach the handler in the yard and seek affection.
Boy is social with the other dogs, but he displayed no play style at this time and would do best with a calmer dog. Due to a prior altercation in the previous home, he will require a known history of aggression disclosure fom. He can be a little head shy at first and needs a little trust bulding with new people. Due to this, he would do best in an adult only home or with older respectful kids.
