Eval Comments: \"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A
dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.\"
She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen, but she is head shy. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a female shepherd and tolerated her sniffing her from behind. She then began to calmly roam the yard and explore. She was tolerant of dogs trailing her to sniff her. After a short time, she began to approach some of the calmer dogs and exchange soft greetings. She remained calm and social for the rest of her time in the yard, but she appeared more comfortable around the calmer dogs. There were dogs playing during her time in the yard, but she did not engage in or entice any play. She would approach the handlers to seek affection, but she was wary of faster movements.
Trina is social with the other dogs, but she displayed no play style at this time and would likely do best with a calmer dog

She was taken to the catch pen after play group for the handling assessment. The handler knelt and called to her. She approached with soft body language. She allowed the handler to pet her head with no reaction. She allowed the handler to check her teeth with no reaction. She allowed the handler to check her ears with no reaction. She allowed the handler to touch her front paws without any reaction. When the handler touched her tail or back paws, she sat down. She will seek affection, but she does best with a go-slow approach and is timid. She was retumed to her kennel without issue. Due to her need for a go-slow approach, she would ikely do best in an adult only home or with older respectful kids.
