"The behaviors described to day reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dogs behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from howthey behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences."

He required a go-slow approach when being collared by the runner in the catch pen He entered the play yard with concemed eyes and a tucked tail. He was approached by a female Pitbull He tolerated her sniffing him, but he had concemed eyes.

When she lingered near his face, he gave a show of teeth waming for space. The waming was respected and she walked away. He then moved a short distance and laid down by the fence. He remained laying here in this position for the rest of his time in the yard. He was tolerant of dogs sniffing him from behind or his body, but he would give show of teeth wamings for space, to dogs that lingered near his face. He maintained this behavior for the rest of his time in the yard. He would do best with a calm dog that would respect his space and boundaries. Due to prior incidents with livestock, he will be designated as no livestock required and will require a known history of aggression disclosure fom. See handling assessment for rescue only stipulation.

He was taken to the catch pen for the handling assessment after play group. The handler knelt and called to him, but he did not approach. The handler approached him slowly and picked up his leash. He had concemed eyes and a lowtail. He allowed the handler to pet his head, but he had wide eyes. He allowed the handler to check his ears, but he had wide eyes.

When the handler touched his tail, he sat down. When the handler touched his muzzle to check his teeth, he gave an air snap waming. The handling assessment was ended at this point. He was retumed to his kennel without issue. Due to his lack of socialization, handling sensitivity, and history of killing livestock, he will be designated as rescue only.
