A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences." She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with soft body language. She was approached by a male Pitbull and tolerated him sniffing her from behind, but she had a tucked tail. She then went to sit by the fence. She was approached by a male shepherd to greet her. She immediately began to growl, give a show of teeth waming and then gave a hard air snap. He respected her waming and walked away. She was then approached by a female husky and displayed the same behavior. She briefly roamed the yard to explore, but she mostly kept near to the handlers. She continued to growl, showteeth and snap at any dog that approached her. She would approach the handlers often seeking affection. She maintained her defensive behavior with all dogs that approached her, regardless of their approach or energy level. Due to her defensive behavior and appearing under socialized with other dogs, she would likely do best as an only dog at home.
