A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behaviormay change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences." He was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. He became bamer reactive toward the dogs through the fence, barking and lunging at them. The other dogs were placed into an adjacent yard and just two calm dogs were left in the play yard to gauge his behavior. He entered the play yard with tense body, high stiff tail, hackles raised and kicking his paws. He approached a calm female shepherd with a tense forward body posture and high stiff tail. He froze for a second then growled and lunged attempting to bite her. Ahandler used the sound of a pet comector to try to break his focus, and another handler was able to pull him away by his leash before he made contact. He was then removed from the yard at this time. Due to his unprovoked offensive behavior, he will be designated as no other dogs required. E26-092977 Animal 1D:.
