Staff was able to leash to examine and vaccinate with no
issues. BORDETELLA-DA2PPV-FLEA TRTMNT (TOPICAL)
04/29/26 11:51 P came in from truck a little aggressive and
officer believed dog has an injury under chin/neck area.
Officer used a catch pole and dog reacted to it, possibly in
pain. When examining it, the dog seemed to be okay to
handle. Wound is about 2cm in diameter and gnarled from
healing on own from 2nd intention. No need to further attend
to it except to start on antibiotics per protocol.
Cephalexin 500mg po bid x 14 days
Gabapentin 100mg 2 capsules po bid x 7 days
04/29/26 15:07 Dog brought in from kennel after scratching wound and opened up wound. Large open wound. Clipped and cleaned
wound and applied Vetrycin gel inside and around wound.
This animal requires medical care beyond what can be
provided in a shelter environment. A medical deadline has
been set for placement. If the animal?s condition deteriorates
prior to placement, humane euthanasia may be considered.
