Eval Comments:
?"The behaviors described today reflect the dog's responses in an Animal Care Center environment and during assessment. A dog's behavior in an Animal Care Center may differ significantly from how they behave in a home. Stress, confinement, and unfamiliar surroundings can cause dogs to act out or suppress behaviors that may emerge later. A dog's behavior may change based on surroundings, training, medical, socialization, and life experiences.
She was easily collared by the runner in the catch pen. She entered the play yard with concemed eyes and a tucked tail. She was approached by two dogs. She tolerated them sniffing her, but she was timid and did not retum the greetings. She then sat down by the fence and remained in this spot. She tolerated dogs approaching her and sniffing her, but she remained timid. A male cattle dog lingered near her face for a few seconds, and she gave a hard au snap correction, while stepping forward.
She remained sitting by the fence for the rest of her time in the yard. She would allow the handlers to approach her and pet her without issue. She appears to need more socialization around dogs and would do best with a very calm dog, that will respect her space and boundaries. She will also need socialization to walking on leash.
