I am a female, white Siberian Husky. Shelter staff think I am about 7 years old. I have been at the shelter since May 22, 2026.
She just came in today (5/22/26) and is already on euthanasia list when her mandatory stray hold is up (5/26/26) She looks sad and exhausted
Here are the notes from her kennel card:
05/22/26 15:48 Dog was presented to vet staff for evaluation due to suspected broken tooth. Upon visual examination, dog was noted to have generalized hair thinning throughout the body with a strong yeasty odor to the skin. Mammary glands are moderately developed, dog may have had a previous litter. Dog was nervous during handling, so leash muzzled. Moderate to severe dental dz. All maxillary and mandibular incisors are significantly worn. Left maxillary canine tooth has gingival recession and exposed root structure resulting in mobility of the tooth. Condition is suspected to be painful and may be at risk for infection. Dog will require sedation for a complete oral examination, dental radiographs if available, and likely extraction of the affected canine tooth. Dog requires dx and tx which are beyond the capabilities of the shelter environment at this time. Dog is currently BAR but nervous.
