He was easy to leash, handle, and assess throughout his time with staff. While initially a bit tense when meeting new dogs, Hopper quickly relaxed, exchanged appropriate greetings, and participated in playful chase games and gentle wrestling. He demonstrated a gentle, dainty play style and was tolerant of other dogs sharing handler attention. Hopper frequently sought affection from handlers, becoming loose and wiggly when pet and leaning in for attention. During his handling assessment, he remained relaxed and cooperative, allowing a full-body examination without issue while continuing to solicit affection. Overall, Hopper is a social, people-oriented dog with a medium energy level. He would benefit from continued socialization and confidence building and is recommended for a home with calm canine companions. Hopper is behaviorally suitable for public adoption. Please note that behavior observed in the shelter environment may differ from behavior in a home setting as dogs adjust to new surroundings, routines, and experiences.
